Hi everyone! Since it has been raining 24/7 in Lithuania I decided to do a beauty post instead of a fashion post today. I will discuss the pros and cons of the Jeffree Star Androgyny eyeshadow palette and share a look that I created using the product.
To start with, the packaging is very sleek and high quality. The outside is bright pink and the material imitates the crocodile print. On the inside it has a nice mirror and 10 big eyeshadow pans, each with the imprinted star logo. The actual colors are gorgeous. I was not a fan of the Beauty Killer palette because I didn’t really like the color layout in it; however, as soon as I saw the Androgyny palette I knew that I needed this one. The palette is full of earthy tones which go so beautifully together. The best part of it all is the rich pigmentation (you can see the swatches below). The formula is incredible on both, matte (8) and shimmery (2) shades; they are smooth and blend easily. The shimmers are very intense even when they are used dry and I personally use them both without wetting the brush. The color doesn’t disappear once you blend it out, which I think is very important.
(From top to bottom: Frosting, Safe Word, Charm, Déjà vu, Dominatrix, Androgyny, Fetish, Military, Poison, Swallow)
Moreover, the eyeshadows have very minimum fallout. I was so pleasantly surprised about that because when a color is highly pigmented it is expected to have quite a generous amount of fallout, but it is definitely not the case with this palette. The palette doesn’t have a strong scent or anything like that. It is cruelty-free and vegan as well. Also, it’s a great option to use for special occasions and events or editorial, bold looks. I love to use the Androgyny palette in autumn because the colors are very fall time appropriate, but you can use it all year round, of course.
Here’s the look that I created using this palette. I used all the shadows with a dry brush.
The only drawback I could think of is that this palette certainly isn’t for everyday natural look. The only shades to use for that purpose would be the 3 first ones on the top row. Furthermore, I wouldn’t recommend this palette for beginners because the colors are very bold and pigmented, so it could be harder to use and would take some time to get use to.
All in all, I think that this is a beautiful, high quality eyeshadow palette and I absolutely love it! If you are thinking about purchasing it, now is the perfect time to do so because the colors are perfect for fall.
