Summer Beauty Favorites 2017

Hi everyone! Today’s post is all about my favorite beauty products that I used throughout the summertime. I thought that this would be better than monthly favorites and I think that I’m going to do one post for every season from now on. Let’s begin!

For starters I’ll talk about my makeup products.  I have been loving these 3 palettes. The first one is the Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush Palette in Golden Sugar. I have never been into blushes, but when I saw this palette I couldn’t help myself and swatched a few shades. That’s when I knew that I absolutely need it! The colors are so pigmented and the best part is that it’s not just a blush palette. It has highlighters, a bronzer, shimmery bronzer toppers (which could be highlighters for darker skin tones) and of course, blushes. I am so pleased with this product and I definitely got a lot of use out of it in these summer months.

Next are the 2 eyeshadow palettes that I used so much as well. One of them is the Urban Decay Jean-Michel Basquiat Tenant Eyeshadow Palette. I love everything about it. The packaging is very unique; it says on the box that when you’re finished with this palette you can hang it on your wall as a piece of art. I just really like the idea of this collection in general. Makeup is truly art and a way of self-expression and this collection said it all. For the actual formula of the eyeshadows – it’s absolutely incredible. The shadows are really pigmented and you only need the smallest amount to work with. They blend effortlessly. I’ve used this a lot when I wanted to create a colorful makeup look as well as my other favorite of this season – the NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette in the color Brights. It’s such a great affordable option for a bright-colored eyeshadow palette. The pigmentation and blendability are very nice as well and this one is in the permanent eyeshadow collection from NYX. The Urban Decay on the other hand is sadly not. I would recommend both of these if you’re looking for a nice and bright eyeshadow palette.

For my favorite lip products I had to mention the NYX Butter Gloss in a shade Vanilla Cream Pie (09). These glosses are my favorite in general, but this shade in particular for summer is perfect to me. It’s a light, but bright pink shade and I’ve been using this when I didn’t really feel like wearing a lipstick, but I still wanted color on my lips. Other shades that I really like are Fortune Cookie, Tiramisu and Éclair. If you are wondering what my favorite lipsticks are then check out the post “Top 5 Lipsticks For Summer” because these are all of my most used lipstick shades for summer.

Furthermore, for the face products I have one that stood out to me the most. It’s the Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation (my shade is Light Beige (10)). I was on the hunt for a long-lasting, matte or semi-matte, cruelty free foundation that didn’t have any SPF, so that I could use it for photography. This foundation is all and more that I’ve been looking for! It claims to have a second skin effect and it’s exactly how it looks on the face. It is a full coverage foundation, but it still looks natural on the face. I apply it with my beauty sponge and it blends into the skin very smoothly. This is the product that I would surely wear for an event, for photos or just for a long day (any day really) because I know that it’s going to last with maybe a few touch ups in the evening because I do have oily skin after all. Also, it’s an affordable foundation, so it really has been only pluses for me so far.

Continuing with the face products, up next is the Bioderma Photoderm Nude Touch SPF 50+. I have already mentioned this product in my “What’s In My Travel Makeup Bag?” post. I love this sunscreen, it’s so good to use in a hot weather. It is meant for combination to oily skin. It claims to have anti-brillance, oil control for 8 hours. Now, I wouldn’t exactly agree with that because once I applied it did look shiny (like any other sunscreen or maybe a little less than others would), but once I absorbed the access shine with a tissue it looked completely fine. It also claims to be beneficial for your skin after a long time use and I think I could agree with that because I didn’t have any breakouts when I was using it and my skin looked very nice.

For my body’s sunblock I have been loving the Filorga Nutri-regenerating Anti-ageing Sun Spray which has SPF 50+. It feels very light on the skin and it isn’t too oily, it absorbed instantly into my skin. I also really like it because it gives your body a bronzy sheen and as a super pale girl I really enjoyed that. It is also suitable for mature skin because it does claim to be anti-ageing. I would definitely say to check this one out.

Next I have 2 favorites from The Body Shop. First one is the Piñita Colada Body Butter. I love the scent of this line because the conjunction of pineapple and coconut is my absolute fave. In addition, I like the formula and the texture of these body creams a lot and I would absolutely say to go give it a try. The other product is their Pink Grapefruit Hand Cleanser Gel. I’m so glad that I tried this one out. It has a pleasant smell and it is not sticky at all. Also, very travel friendly.

Last, but not least, is my Chanel Chance Eau Tendre (EDT). I have had a sample of this perfume since I was about 8 years old and I have loved it ever since. You can imagine for how long I was planning to buy it and finally this year in a Duty Free of Madeira I decided to get this perfume. I’m not regretting it, not one bit! It’s a perfect fresh scent for summer.
