Ciao, long time no see! These past 2 weeks I spent in Firenze (Florence), Italy. It was my first trip and flight that I took completely on my own. I think that it was such a valuable experience because no matter how much I have travelled before, I have never payed too much attention to how airports actually work and what you need to do exactly to make it to your plane. I always had someone tell me what I need to do and where I need to go, so I knew that it was about time I actually learn to get around in an airport, furthermore in a different city. I had some difficulties in airports on my way to Firenze, because I only have flown with connecting flights once before, but I know that now I would have no worries if I would need to get around in an airport anymore.
As I already mentioned, I was going to Firenze and it actually was my second time there. It‘s one of my favorite cities in Italy and I knew that I‘ll have to come back. I had the best time there and met amazing people. The weather was so hot, but I already miss the heat. Since it was so sunny and hot I didn‘t wear makeup most of the time. Honestly, I only applied proper makeup two times in two weeks when we were going out. Now let‘s move on to what makeup I actually brought with me because that‘s what this blogpost is all about.
First and most important thing that I packed was sunblock. Even though I didn‘t wear makeup, I always used sunblock on me (well except for the very last days when I didn‘t really feel the need to do that). I mostly used the tinted sunblock by Bioderma which you can see in the picture. I really liked it because it wasn‘t too oily. I did need to remove the oil residue once I have applied it because I already have oily skin and didn‘t want to look sweaty there, but I liked how light it felt on the skin. It doesn‘t really add coveage at all, it just evens out the skin, but that was exactly what I was looking for. When I didn‘t want any coverage I used sunscreen by Filorga, which I liked more for my body than for the face just because my face got oily quite fast. In addition, for my moisturiser I packed the one by Noreva that I really like because it works great on oily skin, has light texture and sits nicely under makeup.
Next thing in my makeup bag is Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer. This concealer is one of my favorites, if not the most favorite. I didn‘t feel the need to bring a foundation to this hot destination because I knew that I could just use this and be good to go. To set my concealer I brought and used Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder in Translucent. Surprisingly to how little I was sleeping there my under eyes did not look too bad, so I didn‘t use it for the the daytime at all. I covered my eyes with sunglasses most of the time anyway.
Next must have for me is mascara. I brought the Lancôme Définicils which is quite a natural mascara I would say, but of course you can build it up. It isn’t clumpy and lasts like a waterproof mascara, but it is so easy to remove. That’s the quality that all Lancôme mascaras have in general and that’s why I love them. I didn’t bring any eyeshadows with me. However, for my brows I took a clear brow gel by Eylure.
Furthermore, for my face makeup I brought Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer, which is my most perfect favorite bronzer, and for my highlighter I took MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish in a shade Double Gleam. To set my makeup I used Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray (but only those two times when I wore proper makeup).
Last but not least, I of course packed lipsticks! Even though, I didn’t use them that often either. The one that I wore most was the Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in a shade Peony. I love this lipstick so much that I picked up another color while I was in Italy. I also used my NYX Butter Glosses a lot because these are my favorite lip glosses and they feel so comfortable on the lips.
Those are all the makeup products that I brought to Firenze with me. I didn’t take much, but I know that I could’ve taken even less!
Until next time! xo
